Introduction to Tibetan Buddhism
May 12.

Jonathan Nadeau give a brief explanation of Tibetan Buddhism for new-comers to the Temple.
All are welcome.

A discussion of the meaning of taking refuge in the Buddha , Dharma, and Sangha.

  Tibetan language class
Every Tuesday of May and june
7 pm to 9 pm

An ongoing Tibetan language class.  The course is given continually by Gen Losang Tashi.
All are welcome, but please contact the temple to ensure the class is the proper level for you.

Suggested donation :  30$/month, Members 15$/month (membership 60$/yr)

Preliminary Practice:
Saturday 8, 15, 22, 29 June, 2008
9 am to 4 pm

During Saga Dawa, over four weeks practitioners will accumulate 1,000 water & light offerings, 1,000 refuge prayers, 1,000 prostrations, 1,000 mandala offerings, and 10,000 mantras of Buddha Shakyamuni with the extensive preliminary practice recitation. All are welcome to participate, but registration is required 5 June when the practice will be explained.

Saga Dawa celebration:
Saturday 14 June, 2008

4:30 am Mahayana Sojong Vows.

10:00 am Circumambulation and Reading of the Scriptures.

1:00 pm Complimentary lunch.

2:30 pm Lama Chöpa Tsog Offering.

The activities will include Mahayana Sojong vows at 4:30 am (sunrise 5:05 am ), a procession around the Temple , the reading of Kangyur ( Buddha 's teachings), the Lama Ch öpa Tsog ritual and a communal lunch offered by the Bashi family. Everyone is welcome for this auspicious occasion.

Please RSVP at 514-765-3515 by Saturday 7 June. This will help us prepare enough lunch for everyone.

Saga Dawa:
During this month (4 June - 3 July) virtuous activities such as accumulating merit and purifying negativity are especially auspicious.

uring 3 evenings of Saga Dawa, Ven. Zawa Tulku Rimpoche will explain how to generate and meditate on the altruistic intention to attain Buddhahood, the doorway to the Mahayana path. The 8 Verses will be recited for each session. This topic is the very heart of all Tibetan Buddhism. Donations are welcome.

Teachings in New Brunswick
  June 7, 8, 9.

Saturday and Sunday Ven. Zawa Tulku Rinpoche will explain the Buddhist practice of refuge, and its relation with the Buddha's teachings of karma and renunciation. Monday he will give an initiation granting permission to practice the methods of Green Tara. All are welcome.
